Reading Biblical Literature: Genesis to Revelation
by Prof. Craig Koester, Luther Seminary, St. Paul MN
Starting August 27, 2017, we are embarking on a 36-week overview of the entire Bible that will continue through May, 2018. In this The Great Courses study, led by Prof. Craig Koester of Luther Seminary, we will be digging into the Word of God week-by-week, covering most of the books in the Bible. Each class will start with a 30-minute DVD overview, followed by questions and discussion (a week-by-week reading guide is linked below). This class is targeted as an introduction to the Bible for folks who may have never studied it before, but it will also offer insights from a world-renowned Biblical scholar that might well surprise even long-time students of scripture. All are welcome!
Please join us Sunday mornings, after worship and fellowship, at 11:00 a.m.
PREVIOUS ADULT EDUCATION STUDIES
Adult Education completed our study of the Gospel of Mark on Sunday, June 12. We hope you enjoyed learning about the oldest and most action-packed Gospel. If you missed it, you can take a look at the study guides here.
The Book of AMOS
Adult Ed studied Amos, the oldest prophetic book of the Bible. This series of 4 classes dug into Amos’ call for social justice. We talked about what he said to Israel in 760 BCE, and how his words might apply to us today. Here are two study guides from our series of classes:
